Great!) But there are other techniques except dodge and burn that will lead you to the same result without spending so much time!)

Sure, you separate the low and high frequencies, so you have the detail on the high pass and clone on that layer, and then on the low frequency you can work on evening the tones. Apart from that you also doge and burn as usual. Hope that helps a little.

I'm glad that you were able to learn something from it, it is one of the most valuable things you can learn, IMO. I'll try to do a tutorial about this when I have a little bit of time.
