The color and smoothness of her skin is PERFECT! I love this retouch! Thanks for telling us what you did in selective color. Did you do frequency separation on this one?

Thanks! Yes I do think I was doing frequency separation already at that time.

Great gob again! I would have diminished that fold across her shoulder so it doesn't pay the viewers attention so much. But overall this is a very nice retouch!)

Thankyou! :)
About the colors, it's just a question of adjusting through different methods, experiment a bit.... first of all raw conversion, sometimes slight desaturation, curves, luminosity blend modes, selective color... really depends on what you're working on.

If you like, when I'm finished with a big project I'm working on at the moment, I'll dig up that psd and have a look at exactly what I did and let you know. :)

Here goes, the first thing was some good color conversion in raw, masking several conversions as needed, to get it as close as possible to the outcome you want. In general it was much too warm, wanted to cool it and bump the exposure up a bit too. After that there are many small adjustment layers that add up to the effect, but perhaps one of the most important is selective color on the reds, take down some black, magenta and a bit of yellow, that got me very close to my end goal. Luminosity masked curves are also very interesting to use, because you can play around with the different channels without affecting the color itself. You may also need a little tweaking in a color balance adj layer... but those are just minor. I hope that helps a little bit, please let me know. :)
